I thought that it’s really relevant since I’ve been struggling with streamlining the content for this blog. It made me stop to think what’s worth sharing and made me realise the importance of significant content.
The aforementioned article was published on LifeHacker and it’s a tip on how to spend less time poking around the internet.
Sounds rather counter-productive seeing that I want more people to read my content, right? ๐
Anyway, in a nutshell, Aziz Ansari shares that we will spend a lot less time on the internet if we were asked,
“[if] I’m gonna print this and give you a bound copy of all this stuff you read so you don’t have to use the Internet. You can just get a bound copy of it. Would you read that book?”
Wow. I immediately reflected upon all the things that I've read and learned on the internet, and whether they were worth my time. I don’t know about you, but I definitely can do without my Twitter and Facebook feeds.
It also made me think of the posts I usually like reading. Do they add value, teach me new things, or uplift me? Or are they just time-wasters?
And this post that you’re reading now, has it helped you?
And yes, it’s rather ironic that I’m telling you to sift the bad content away and I’m here giving you a not-fit-for-a-book post. ๐
Do share your thoughts!
