Psalms 42:11 - I will put my hope in God

Often times, as an adult we are told (or you tell yourself) to "suck it up" and keep a brave front when we face a difficult situation. If you fail this time, try again - you will get better at it (so we've been told). Sometimes we fall into a pit of depression (for various reasons or none at all), and feel like you're stuck, hopeless, and all is lost.

But look, you are not the first to feel that way:

This psalmist also questions the awful feelings in his heart, yet he decides to put his hope in God and continue to praise. Perhaps this is one of the most wonderful way to revere God - to praise Him and put trust and hope in Him despite feelings of insecurity and hopelessness.
